Cyprus Residency by Investment
A discretionary pathway to European Union residency in Cyprus, granted to individuals whose investments
or contributions create measurable value for Cyprus and its economy, assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Cyprus is not yet a member of the Schengen Area. A Cyprus residence permit therefore does not grant visa-free travel within the Schengen zone.
Family Inclusion
The residence permit can extend to close family members of the main applicant.
Eligible dependants include:
• Spouse
• Children under the age of 18
• Children aged 18–25 who are financially dependent and studying abroad
Dependants may attend private schools and international educational institutions in Cyprus.
Investment Options
Minimum Investment: 300.000€
Applicants may qualify through one of the following investment routes:
• Purchase of up to two residential properties from a developer
• Purchase of up to two non-residential properties such as offices, shops or hotels
• Investment in the share capital of a Cyprus-registered company employing at least five people
• Investment in Cyprus investment funds (AIF, AIFLNP or RAIF)
Financial Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate a secured annual income from abroad of at least:
• 50.000€ for the main applicant
• Additional 15.000€ for the spouse
• Additional 10.000€ for each dependent child
Income may derive from salaries, rental income, pensions, interest on deposits or dividends originating from abroad.
Additional Requirements
• Clean criminal record certificate from the country of origin and country of residence (renewed every three years)
• Declaration confirming non-employment in Cyprus
• Valid health insurance if not covered by the national healthcare system
• Annual confirmation that the qualifying investment is maintained
Application Pathway
Applicants complete a qualifying investment, submit the application with the required documentation and undergo a due diligence review.
Required documents include a valid passport, proof of qualifying investment, health insurance coverage, a clean criminal record certificate and supporting financial documentation.
The process can generally be completed remotely, with the exception of biometric data collection.
Residence permits are typically issued within approximately 2–3 months.
Citizenship
After seven years of legal residence in Cyprus, applicants may become eligible to apply for Cypriot citizenship through naturalisation.
